Windows of the Soul - DearkaxMiriallia

I don't own any Gundam Seed or any of it's characters.... which makes me sad since so many characters with so much potential weren't fully developed! OTL

Please forgive any mistakes, both character-wise and grammatically-wise. I don't really have time to re-read and re-edit things.

Windows of the Soul

Eyes were the windows of the soul.

It allowed people to gaze intimately inside of another, to analyze and observe the inner-workings of a person’s mind. But in all honesty, none of that romantic crap had mattered much to Dearka until he met Miriallia Haww.

Having grown up surrounded by elites who were always careful when showing their emotions and having joined ZAFT at a young age, the only eyes Dearka was familiar with were cold, trained, and calculative eyes. In fact, the closest he got to expressive was Yzak... but that was because unlike Dearka, Yzak’s mother was more supportive of him and didn’t mind when Yzak had emotional outbursts.

Still, even Yzak and his dramatic moments couldn’t compare to Miriallia’s eyes.

If the saying described anyone perfectly, it was Miriallia.

Since the moment she had tried to kill him to the moment she had cried her eyes out, containing in her grief after meeting the person who had killed Tolle, Dearka had been captivated by her eyes.

The never ending sea of blue was always flaring with emotions and sadly, he would often see those eyes in tears. And though he did hate to see her cry, those tears accentuated those blue orbs and caused them to sparkle.

Miriallia never hid her true feelings and openly expressed how she felt to those around her, conserving her sentiments if they were inappropriate for some to see, but never hiding if she knew what she was doing was right.

However, it wasn’t until he got to see her smile did he realize just how cute she was.

The smile was tender and sweet... but those eyes, those beautiful glowing eyes, the way the corner of her eyes would crease as she gave him the sweetest smile he had ever seen.

It was as though she had finally allowed him to see deep into her eyes, to gaze into the windows of her soul that bore all to him.

And now that he had a glimpse, he wanted more.

Because of the war and the tension between him and her, he had seen many parts of her when she was afraid... when she was angry... when she was sad... but this smile, the small joy she had given him was so beautiful and mesmerizing that he wanted to see more.

To see her happy, to see her proud... to see those expressive eyes to look at him back with the tenderness he knew she hid when thinking of Tolle.

He wanted to see it all.

Because, god damn if he’d ever admit it out loud, he was addictive to her soul and wanted all of her for himself.

My Happy Ending - DearkaxMiriallia

I don't own any Gundam Seed or any of it's characters.... which makes me sad since so many characters with so much potential weren't fully developed! OTL

My Happy Ending

Miriallia felt sleep lazily leave her as she felt the warm arm that held her firmly around the waist, keeping her close against the solid figure behind her. A face nuzzled into her neck gently and she giggled when the action tickled her. Dearka grumbled in response at the noise and kissed her neck, smiling when that generated more laughter.

She reached up and ran her hand through his messy blonde hair, her other hand stroking his arm. Their bare legs were tangled amongst each other and the warmth and security he brought her made her want to snuggle closer and never leave the bed.

Since the war began and her world fell apart, she had believed that she would never be able to get back on her feet again. Her home was destroyed, her support was killed, and everyone was too consumed in their own problems to comfort one another.

But there was that one person who did care, even when he should have been more worried about himself since he was currently a prisoner of war. He had watched as she cried and held her even when she yelled at him to let go because he knew despite her screams, the one thing she wanted most was to hold onto someone and cry, to forget the traumas of this war and the horrors she had seen for a temporary moment of peace.

Eventually, his patience bore fruit, a turnabout that was especially noticed when it was her turn to comfort him.

Just like her, he had been so terribly alone, especially after he had defected to join her side, to defend her from those who wanted her dead. But this meant betraying his comrades in arm, his brothers who had always watched his back for him.

So during the moment he had been alone, contemplating and saddened, she gave him the comfort he had always given her.

And it was then that she truly found solace in this ridiculous war... and was able to accept the hope that perhaps things will be alright in the end.

“Thanks Dearka,” she murmured softly.

“Mm?” he inquired sleepily.

Miriallia smiled and turned her head, kissing him gently on the lips. “For giving me my happy ending.”
